LT-Christmas

Students and teachers of our school were getting ready for Christmas for nearly a month. Classrooms were decorated with Christmas decorations, Christmas trees and Advent calendars. With the help of their parents students made angels and took part in the exhibition. All school community actively took part in the charity. Children made their own greeting cards, collected toys or food products from home. Everything was donated to those in need. The members of school community were invited to the concert. Children sang Christmas carols , read poems and danced. Parents prepared a present for their childen and teachers- a visit to the theatre in Vilnius and Kaunas.

Ireland - Christmas fun!

We are all getting ready for Christmas in Ireland too. Advent begins today and we have an Advent calendar to open each day. Some children get a chocolate calendar - so each day when they open a window, they get to eat a chocolate! The decorations will be put up in homes and schools this week or next - Christmas trees, garlands, window decorations. More people in Ireland have begun to put up outdoor lights outside their houses. Sometimes they can be quite crazy-looking! They must be very expensive to run as they use a lot of electricity. In our school, we are preparing for a Christmas Concert on 14th December. We will have a big audience of parents, grandparents and friends, so we will go to our local GAA club premises, as our school is too small to host such an event.
